Each year, the Centre for Aboriginal Independence and Enterprise promotes and manages a series of corporate luncheons and public forums to generate and encourage debate on indigenous issues.
Through a series of corporate lunch events, with prominent guest speakers, the CAIE does provide the corporate and government sectors with access to topical issues of importance to the indigenous community.
The format of the CAIE lunches includes two guests speakers to address the audience over lunch.
The first speaker outlines the topic/issue, and the second speaker (generally from the corporate sector) then discusses the ways and means of positively addressing the issue.
The CAIE forums deal with challenging issues in a positive and structured way, enabling the broader community to improve its understanding of indigenous issues and to identify ways they may contribute to the solutions.
In a departure from the “standard” corporate lunch circuit, the CAIE forums encourage corporate guests to purchase tables of 10, which will include two places for indigenous guests.
Through this initiative, the CAIE provides the corporate sector and indigenous community members with the chance to get to know each other better in a relaxed and positive environment.
